I have used it a lot myself. That would be my choice. Ask around and get the best practioner, if there is a choice.
Here's a general information thread on it that I wrote. It contains some diet and lifestyle advice that might help. Like, don't give ice water to your dog. If she can eat regular food, instead of dog food it would be better to feed her human grade meat, free range hormone free chicken and wild fish, plain natural whole milk yogurt such as Brown Cow or Stonyfield, mashed pureed yams and free range eggs. Perhaps some steamed vegetables that are tolerable for dogs or some brown rice. My dog lived to be 18. She got seizures at about 13 which I figured out are from the chemicals in Kal Kan dog food and chlorinated water. After that I made her chicken stew and stuff and gave her spring water. Her seizures went down 80% and she lived to be 18.
A practitioner would be your best bet, but on top of that maybe you can find advice about what Chinese Medicine thinks causes this ailment in either dogs or humans so you could try to avoid those things. Look into the chemicals in her environment and diet.
