This is kind of like an aging reduction theory

The blood brain barrier http://en.wikipedia....d-brain_barrier separates each brain cyte from the bloodstream. Neurons as well as glia live well over a century, over two centuries at cetaceans. Other cytes typically have a 7 year cycle. If the blood brain barrier were made a part of other tissues would these other tissues have more than an order of magnitude greater length of functionality as well?

there are some anomolies to consider. There are parts of the CNS without a BBB filter, these actually detect chemicals at the circulatory system to direct physiological response. If these BBBless neurons also live over a century or two then that moderates this theory.

also, mice live less than a half or a third of the longevity of a 7 year human cyte, yet their brains also have blood brain barriers. to mouse aging this is perhaps nonrelevant. although if it is relevant at humans, irrelevant at mice, then it suggests a new area of longevity completely unrelated to any previous mouse study.

It doesn't sound particularly easy to give other organs a BBB to see if it superlongevizes them, however a BBB version of an artificially grown heart might be superlongefying as well as directly apply to the 2/3 of deaths related to cardiovascular things during the 20th century.

I think people are growing artificial hearts now, so a BBBized version is a direct possible order of magnitude improvement
