So, been taking a bunch of nootropics and other supplements. The latter for like 20 years and the former for maybe 6 months. Things like NAC, selenium, multivits, ALA traditionally. And things like CDP-choline, Bacopa, Ashwagandha, sulbutiamine more recently. Now, my latest addition last week was Noopept. Been taking 3 tablets 10mg each daily. Sometimes a few more. First tried sublingually, but that had some really odd results. Spaced out. So switched to just swallowing them. Now, on Friday I drank a bottle of red wine. Really did not feel anything after drinking it. Been drinking moderately for 25 years and never had that happen. No intoxication at all. Just for the heck of it, I then downed 2/3 of a Spanish cava sparkling wine bottle. Really did not feel intoxicated even then. My motor functions and speech were perhaps a bit impacted, but I was not drunk at all. Really, really strange. Whatever kick I got out of plain old ethanol seems to be at least largely gone. Need to try again...

I beilieve I had similar effects. Not sure if this is effect of noopept or other supplements/nootropics. I started pramiracetam and ashwaganda at the same time. I feel my tolerance to alcohol increased since that. The bad side is I have to be more consious now of how much I have drunk to stop before it is too much.

One of my cousins was also taking opiate and he started drinking alcohol too which made his family’s life a mess. But soon they took him to the virginia opiate addiction treatment and alcohol center. First he wasn’t ready for the treatment but after counseling his treatment was started. Now they are living a happy life.

Yeah you have to be extra careful when you're doing something that makes you feel less sensitive to alcohol, because even if you don't feel it as much it still takes a toll. I once knew a guy who who drank while he was on coke; he could drink much more before he felt drunk. Played guitar in a band. First he started acting crazy, apparently unaware of the extent of his intoxication. Eventually he was thrown of the band, partly because his playing didn't fit and partly because of his scary behavior. He had to have been doing serious damage. Don't know what happened to him but haven't seen him play since.
