No. But he does know quite a bit about the spirits in hell having seen and heard them first hand. You should listen to him, especially if you are headed there yourself. The spirits in hell thirst for all that only a most loving Creator can give them. They lose their families and have anger and hatred in their hearts. God gathers you to your family and restores the soul to the loving way it was created to be. You make the choice yourself in your lifetime to be a loving spirit with God and family in the afterlife or an evil devil in hell without family or personal value or worth.

 

 

 

I wonder how awesome it must be to be, for example, a parent in heaven when one of your beloved children is writhing in hell.

 

Can we as parents have fun and be at peace with ourselves in the knowledge that while we do this, one of our kids is suffering torment with no possibility of release?  

 

I know I can't do it.  

 

I'd like to meet the person that says they could do it, so I can look them up and down and get a sense of who they really are.

You have it wrong.  Hell is where God is not.  God honors our choices.  Some people don't want to be with God and in fact mock those that do.  I suppose you would force everyone to be with God and I assume Old School will be there because He wants to.  Don't blame God for your choices.  However you can chose what you want.

So SH, what say you about Old School's Christianity?  Does he speak for you.  Does he speak for other Christians?  

 

I'm assuming you're the one who marked his post "unsure."  Only another Christian is likely to do that because they are uncomfortable with such ugly things from other Christians and conflicted about what to do about it since on one hand they don't like it, but on the other, don't want to admit something ugly manifested from Christian doctrine.   An atheist would likely find his belief morally repugnant immediately, and therefore unlikely to be "unsure" about something like that.

 

I'm just curious because you like to force beliefs some other atheists have on me despite my protests that I don't accept them as part of my atheism.

I wanted to add something else.  Someone who raised a child to adulthood would have invested nearly 20 years of their life into it... and then some as the adult child maintained contact with the parent.  This child would become a significant part of who the parent is.  Your children are part of who you are, they change you and cause you to choose differently in situations where you might have went another way if you were not a parent.

 

So, to forget children entirely is to forget every decision and belief that revolved around being a parent.  Huge chunks of memory, experiences, gone.  You wouldn't be the same person anymore.

 

The person I am now, my consciousness, my perspective, my beliefs, my experiences, all together, would cease to exist with such a major piece of structure removed.  I would be someone different, someone who is not myself... whatever that even means.   Why should we be so eager to enter heaven if this were the case?

 

You could also have the same scenario with other loved ones.  Spouses, siblings, best friends.  People you dearly love who are not your children.  Gone from you forever. Did they really mean nothing to you in the first place?  Is humanity so worthless?

Well Atheists have a problem with the basis of their morality though I believe they can be very moral from mine.  I don't agree with everything Old School says and have said so.  On the other hand he is a theist and I find more similarities with him than a mocker.  Most mockers in this thread, when examined have less evidence than Old School.  I have yet to see them define what an orb is and they ignored the stronger points that have been brought up.  Personally I would not use orbs to argue for God but they are evidence for something and the mockers have not shown me anything.  I was "unsure," what Old School meant by his statement which was unclear.  I believe Children do go to heaven.

Well I discussed earlier my own photographs of lens aberrations which can be quite beautiful.  An orb is simply a round image of light and can be caused by many things.  I gave an example of Ball Lightning awhile back as an orb which we do not know what it is.  One thing is for sure the mockers don't have a clue what all orbs are and they could not close their mouth long enough to get a rational discussion going..

Alright.  The only thing I had heard previously about orbs was that they were specks of dust really close to the lens, reflecting light.  This was on Ghost Hunters years ago in their first season (I stopped watching after, I was just curious to see what the fuss was all about), during one of their attempts to look all sciencey lol ... so you can imagine how seriously I was taking all of it

Sure but there are all kinds of orbs, many we don't know what they are, except the mockers do.   Anyway Google it, the subject is interesting and as I said you can create some fantastic ones with steam and stacked lenses on a closeup lens.  But this is far from the only orbs.

He has evil spirits in his life do to sin. Most quack American psychiatrists would diagnose him as a schizophrenic. The devils were known for driving a person mad over a hundred years ago in America and in some countries the truth of this is still taught. Although he is in error on some of his points of understanding of the spirit world. He does know the devils quite well. We can learn from even the lowliest of persons.
