I have been asked to come up with a general health stack for a friend of mine, now resident in the UK.
As I am still in South Africa; I have no idea of which brands are good there.

He likes to purchase online and would like to help the cause by buying from companies like LEF that financially support longevity, so the list doesn't have to be available at Boots or somewhere and can be shipped from elsewhere.

High quality  and efficacy is the priority.

He has already ordered C60oo from Carbon so thats covered.

The stack should be a decent general health, anti-aging, mind/memory boosting/protecting, slimming stack.

I'm Thinking:

A good Multi-Vit/mineral.

Trace minerals ~??

5000-7000 IUs of D3

Ester C ~ 2-3G  (smoker)

Resveratrol ~100mg

Pterostilbene ~ 50mg

GSE ~ 100mg

Circumin ~ ??mg

Krill Oil ~ ??mg

Lithium Orotate ~ 1-5mg

Magnesium L-Threonate ~ ??mg

VCO ~ 1-3 spoonfuls in food etc.

Gelatine ~ 10-50g

CILTEP / Mr Happy combo?

A Lion's mane + Reishi and Maitake etc Mushroom mix ~ ??mg

Bacopa and/or Ashwagandha ~??mg

If the above are combined into 1 pill to cut down on pill count:  so much the better.
eg: Resveratrol, Pterostilbene, GSE, Circumin are often in one pill.

All UK available supplier/brand suggestions welcome.

Also additions etc to the stack?

I don't know about UK brands, but I'd cut back on the D.  Mag threonate is expensive and you have to take a ton of it if it's being taken as a general magnesium source.  I'd use a different salt.  Lithium's good- you can also use aspartate which might be cheaper and/or easier to get.   50g is a lot of gelatine- I'd stick to the lower end.  Does CILTEP really work?  Mr Happy's stack is the one with Uridine, isn't it?  Taking a lot of exogenous U worries me because of possible distortion of the nucleotide pool, but then I'm a worrier..

Thx Niner.

To answer your questions:

D:

"...In a letter1 published last week in the journal Nutrients the scientists confirmed a calculation error noted by other investigators...

...The recommended intake of vitamin D specified by the IOM is 600 IU/day through age 70 years, and 800 IU/day for older ages. “Calculations by us and other researchers have shown that these doses are only about one-tenth those needed to cut incidence of diseases related to vitamin D deficiency,” Garland explained...."

Could Vitamin D increase Klotho levels ?

:)

Mag threonate:

L-threonate represses the glycoprotein dickkopf-1 (Dkk-1) via alkaline phosphatase activity; releasing ascorbic acid into the cell.
This enhances neurogenesis in the hippocampus, and stops papilla cells from dying and the hair-producing outer root sheath cells from stopping to work.

gelatine

"...Two hours after eating a hefty portion of gelatine your body has a surge in growth hormone production...

An 8X spike at 0.6 g/kg.

I assume a smaller spike at lower doses? Hence 10-50g?

(very nice site btw)

CILTEP and the Mr Happy stack both work and are 2 threads worth following in brain health.
(The other is NSI-189 IMHO.)

CILTEP (87 pages)

(Abelard Lindsay has started selling CILTEP.
http://www.naturalstacks.com/

I wish him the best of luck)

The Happy stack does contain Uridine as its cornerstone.

By the length of the thread (92 pages) and similar threads, you can tell that its a success.

I'm sure he would welcome questions about the possible distortion of the nucleotide pool.

As would I?

NB: that combining the 2 stacks requires adding Tryptophan?
