What should be the dosage for Ganoderma lucidum? I've read that around 5g/d of 10:1 extract is the optimal dose, but looking at the prices, that would set me back around 250eu/year, which is A LOT of money for me.

My goal is to improve my mental well-being, or to be more precise increase my neurotransmitter production (particularly dopamine, and also MAO-inhibition), as well as memory and general cognition. Of course the increased immunity, anti-carcinogenic activity and MANY other benefits is a GREAT bonus, but those are my main goals with it.

So I was wondering if someone took it and knows from experience about the dosage and what worked and didn't work for them?

Well for that purpose another medicinal mushroom, Cordyceps, is probably better. It increases dopamine biosynthesis and steroidogenesis, inhibits MAOB, acts as prefrontal AMPAkine.

Haha, love the picture that you have! I just looked into the guy, apparently he lived around 250 years... Not sure if it's believable, but I am not doubting it much either. :-) But let's not derail the topic, so:

I am also looking at Corcyceps as well as many other supplements, So far I have maybe 7 or 8 that I am considering to buy. Corcyceps is at the top of my list. However I have posted a lot of topics here because I doubt that just one supplement will work for me. My neurotransmitters - especially dopamine - are really, really low most of the time. I also want to exclude any supplements that would do the opposite and wouldn't work for me at all.

And I am also very interested in experiences, as I am quite passionate about all these subjects.

I've been consuming Ganoderma Lucidum at about 10grams 25:1 each morning for 5 years. It's one of my favorite extracts. I originally got into it because of depression.

In my opinion, if you do not have much money to purchase this extract, I feel that cordyceps will also be out of your price range as these are both expensive and prized tonic herbs.

MAO is a copper-containing enzyme, which also works with other micronutrients such as zinc. It may be of interest to include these in your stack.
