Tried a Thorne basic b and had mixed effects. The bad came from the methylfolate I think; flattens me out. But also had good energy and avoided the late-day energy crash I sometimes get. Any ideas what it might have been?

Started a b12 on its own today, seeing as I'm vegetarian that might be it...

Curious what others here use. So far I'd note that the b12 (hydroxo) locks me and wakes me up but weirdly mutes emotions. Odd.

Did you already get comprehensive lab panels, as highly suggested in an other one of your threads? I really would if in your shoes before proceeding any further with haphazard supplementation.

I never had any bad reactions to B-vitamins, with the only exception of choline, where I would get chaw clenching and tension above a certain dose for some time (500 mg/d, later decreasing to 300, and now increasing again - while getting additional 400 mg/d from diet). Just read an other Internet opinion that choline might hinder endogenous inositol production. And my increased Myo-inositol intake of about 10 g/d would then indeed explain my increased tolerance to choline again.

B-vitamins are highly and intricately interwoven in metabolism:

Therefore most likely explanation would be by supplementing some but not all, you're pushing others of them into deficiency. Or your sensitivity to as it now seems to me all supplements is indeed caused by a whole number of undiagnosed underlying conditions. Therefore my advise again, get tested, if you don't have started with that already.

Indeed, I had comprehensive testing, I'm getting the results today. May I PM you with some select results?

Sure, just don't expect any medical advise.

I don’t like using complex is as I prefer Sam to be different he does and others. I already have high B12 so that’s one of the only B’s I don’t supplement with. I like to spread the dosing out and several doses due to better absorption. I currently use

Niacinamide(B3) 500mg/day (nutricost)
12.5mg B1 2xday(ez melts Solara Labs)
7.5mg B6 P5P 2x/day(source naturals)
500mg B5 2x/day(Vitamin Shoppe)
10mg 2x/day Riboflavin-5-Phosphate(Douglas Labs)
600mg Inositol(as myoinositol) 1-2x/day(jarrow)
250mg CDP Choline 1x/day
300mg Benfotiamine(Dr.’s Best) 3-5x/wk
a little biotin every now and then and sometimes some b12 from Solgars Desiccated Liverr Tabs.
