my theory is if a severe deficiency of magnesium due to it being responsible for so many enzyme reactions (over 700+ possibly more), that if you lack magnesium can result in drugs / supplements not working when you take them. Because many of these enzyme reactions are to do with energy production also. This includes food as well. I think your body can survive being deficient in a lot of vitamins/minerals for a period of time. water absorption in the gut i'm not so sure about. This is why injecting a drug would work somehow I theorize, but also applying on scrotum magnesium or any other things would work, because your body depends on your genetics surviving / passing on so it has to keep your testicles healthy, hence good absorption there, which you can apply anything and it will absorb even in your poorest health condition. Second being your eyes / vision having the best absorption rate because vision is obviously important.

When astaxanthin is ingested, it is digested and absorbed in a similar manner as fat, which means it is assembled into chylomicrons. The chylomicrons are absorbed into lymph circulation before remnants of astaxanthin are digested by lipoprotein lipases. Astaxanthin is then assimilated into lipoprotein particles to get transported into tissues [7].

This means astaxanthin can more readily affect the metabolism of fat and cholesterol, especially when it relates to cardiovascular health. Astaxanthin is a highly fat-soluble substance, which means that it is better absorbed when consumed with fat [6].

Zinc deficiency has detrimental effects on the gut lining of animal models and humans in a variety of gastrointestinal diseases (e.g., inflammatory bowel disease, diarrhea, cancer, alcohol toxicity, and colitis). In most cases, zinc supplementation can provide improvement [218].

In rats and mice, scientists tested its ability to stabilize the gut mucosa and reduce injuries by enhancing gut repair processes in rats and mice [219].

Zinc also protected the intestinal mucosa from alcohol-induced damage in rats and mice. It can prevent gut leakiness, which may reduce the risk of developing inflammatory bowel disease [220, 221, 222, 223, 224, 225].

A study in patients with dyspepsia (indigestion) found that inflammation in H.pylori-induced stomach cancer was negatively correlated with zinc concentration [226, 227].

Despite what its name might sound like, the main function of the TUSC3 protein is actually to regulate the metabolism, uptake, and transport of magnesium throughout the body’s cells [RRR].

are fat soluble vitamins absorbed better than water soluble since they are stored in your fat so they can easily be stored and used? water soluble ones easily go trough the body.

niacin for some reason has a high bioavailability

Gonna try Epsom Salt + with DMSO... I searched if someone had done similar things and Someone already thought of this back in year 2018

https://www.youtube....h?v=I4TQPfuoftA

She used it orally but I thought of doing it on the skin since that's how epsom salt is used in the bath but with dmso for maximum absorption on the skin. If you have IBS / chrons disease you will have absorption issues in the intestines hence my idea is not exactly as hers but better.

Also I wanna make epsom salt + DMSO eyedrops but dunno if that is safe or works or bypasses the bbb?

  • The amino acids in Collagen For Her that help with gut health and digestion are:
  • Glycine: Helps improve digestive health and the intestinal tract. Glycine can help stimulate the production of stomach acids and improves its ability to absorb nutrients.
  • Glutamine: Glutamine has been identified as a key amino acid in helping the prevention of inflammation in the gut wall and healing leaky gut syndrome. It has been associated with helping the intestinal lining of the stomach and opening junctions in the connective tissue. Glutamine has been tied to helping the body’s metabolism and helping to curb your desire for sugar and alcohol.
  • Proline: Along with glycine, proline helps synthesize collagen. This amino acid can help heal wounds, support digestive health, increase metabolism and fight inflammation in the intestinal tract.

vitamin c stimulates collagen

works well with vitamin d

Am I understanding this study wrong or does Lithium increase absorption of oral drugs or supplements?

https://www.ncbi.nlm.../pubmed/3569679

The long-term effect of lithium treatment on the digestive and absorptive function has been investigated in male albino rats. The uptake of D-glucose, amino acids and activities of cellular and brush border enzymes were evaluated after every 3 months. Significantly increased uptake was observed in 6-month lithium-treated rats. The absorptive capacity (Vmax) for D-glucose increased significantly without alteration in the Michaelis constant. Activities of cellular, brush border membrane disaccharidase, leucine aminopeptidase and Na+,K+-ATPase enzymes were significantly augmented in 6-month lithium-treated animals. The elevation in sucrase activity may be due to induction of enzyme since only Vmax was increased in lithium-treated animals. The present biochemical alterations suggest that long-term lithium ingestion stimulates the small bowel digestive and absorptive functions.

If so that makes sense, because I was trying random supplements and drugs of mine and suddenly finally I felt that something was absorbed (magnesium), but I didn't know what did it but now I think I found out. Prior to it I had taken 1 lithium carbonate tablet or two (450mg prolonged release) and then I took high dosage of magnesium glycinate and it worked!

I'm so happy, tomorrow I'm gonna take two lithium tablets + with magnesium...

small intestine (small bowel) is were magnesium and many other things (drugs etc) are absorbed, correct me if I am wrong?

I knew it had to be lithium because of its RAPID ABSORPTION and LONG HALF LIFE (30 hours) similar to Memantine which is absorbed for me in high doses.. Or because of the location of the absorption?  (Lithium is completely absorbed from the upper gastrointestinal (GI))

Or did lithium work for me because of the formula i have which is prolonged release which makes the half life even longer? all these question, either way, I KNOW IT WORKS! The study noted that long term lithium ingestion stimulates absorption in the small intestine but for me it took only like 1-3 days ...... and it was 1 tablet a day. Any way, for future reference in case anyone sees this, I used this form of lithium: RX Lithium carbonate Prolonged-release tablets IP 450mg (INTALITH cr-450) INTAS 10x10 tablets UNCOATED

Thinking of a combo of  this type of lithium + quality memantine..... to produce anti-anxiety effects make memantine absorption better and make myself heal.

Lithium is neither metabolized nor protein bound, thus its bioavailability usually is close to 100%. Moreover, lithium absorption is rapid[3]. Serum lithium levels reflect only the extracellular lithium concentration. However, lithium exerts its effects once it has moved to its intracellular compartment.

Because most absorption occurs in the small intestine, gastric emptying is often the rate-limiting step. ... For these reasons, most drugs are absorbed primarily in the small intestine, and acids, despite their ability as un-ionized drugs to readily cross membranes, are absorbed faster in the intestine than in the stomach.

I did also take Tofisopam which seems to work against IBS (inflammation of the intestines etc). Maybe a combo of it and Lithium?

Tofisopam is not approved for sale in the United States or Canada. However, Vela Pharmaceuticals of New Jersey is developing the D-enantiomer (dextofisopam) as a treatment for irritable bowel syndrome,[7] with moderate efficacy demonstrated in clinical trials so far.[8]

IBS is a disorder that affects your lower GI tract. This includes the small intestine and large intestine (colon). ... When you have IBS your colon looks normal. But it does not work the way it should.

Cytochromes P450 (CYPs) are a family of enzymes containing heme as a cofactor that function as monooxygenases. In mammals, these proteins oxidize steroids, fatty acids, and xenobiotics, and are important for the clearance of various compounds, as well as for hormone synthesis and breakdown. Inhibition of human P450 enzymes by multiple constituents of the Ginkgo biloba extract. ... The Ginkgo biloba extract EGb761 was tested for its ability to inhibit the major human cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYPs).Jun 11, 2004

I belive it is possibly to survive without your small intestine. That key vitamins , minerals and omega3 and elements / sodium and such can be asorbed via stomach and big intestine. That once the small inestine is not working that your body increases absorption in other areas. 5% magnesium is absorbed in big intestine so just enough to get by......

niacin is absorbed in stomach key compoundend for NAD/ ENERGY production and function.

so can food be absorbed in the other places ? yes.

this includes some drugs too like memantine.
Stomach acid helps to further digest or break down food and nutrients like protein. Not much gets absorbeddirectly in the stomach, except alcohol.Absorption of nutrients mostly occurs in the small intestine.

The stomach absorbs very few substances, although small amounts of certain lipid-soluble compounds can be taken up, including aspirin, other non-steroidal anti-infammatory drugs, and ethanol.

Notably, these substances are also well-recognized causes of gastric irritation and their use (especially overuse) is commonly associated with development of gastritis and gastric ulcers.
